Heating and settling are not economical for the large-scale processing of waste oil. Separation of these contaminants is essential before the reuse of waste oil. Waste oil has water and sludge as primary contaminants. They are also used as fuel as in fuel oil and other heating applications. They are often reused as stock for black diesel, regenerated engine oil, etc. Waste oils (used motor oil, hydraulic oil, lube oil, etc.) are reusable.
